Zone Visit

For all that are unaware what a zone visit is since we don't have the privilege in the US. The branch arranges someone from a local branch committee or from the Governing Body to come and have a special meeting with all the missionaries in that country. They will also receive a special talk that others are invited to attend. So on Friday our friends Jon and Cindi and 20 missionaries in total showed up at the branch in Zim and they had a special meeting. Then they were also able to associate with the other missionaries and encourage each other. They had a special dinner and also a braai as they call it here. It is a barbecue  or as some of you also know it as churrasca. This is a great time for the missionaries to spend time with the other missionaries and the brother that was sent for the visit.

Can you pick out the American?  These are the actual seats we sat on. Never again will we complain of seating or the temp in our assembly halls. This is open air and some parts are right in the sun. Along with the cement seating. You do have to bring a cushion. But even with a cushion after a couple hours it doesn't really help.

These brothers worked hard in preparing the outside of the stadium. They were taking care of the parking lot and overgrown grass.
This is Jon and Cindi. Our friends that we came here to visit.

These women were nice enough to humor me in letting me take their picture. Those are bags of beans. Many of the Shona women carry many things on their heads. I will try to take more pictures of them if I can.

There were over 20,000 in attendance for the zone visit at the Stadium then there were a few areas included. The total was over 28,000. Br. Hart from the South African Branch gave a discourse. There was a shortened Watchtower study and then a review of the work in Zim. We will share more details and pictures when we get home. It was an amazing privilege and amazing event....

  1. I am really enjoying this! Do you love the brother in the background of Jon & cindi's picture! I want to go where people ask you for magazines-how refreshing is that?
