Service in Shona and Rurals

We visited the girls in the field service in Shona. This is what most of the service looks like.

We did field service in the rurals today in English. Then we stopped for tea and lunch.

There are always people walking on the side of the road. Especially children. While in the rurals we came across these kids. They were coming home from school. Many of the kids will yell out "marungu" (not sure the exact spelling) but that is white person.

These are typical roads in the rurals. The main roads in the city are better paved but with many potholes. They told Jake that he will end up having a PHD after he is finished driving in Zim. So today the pioneer girls told him he has received his PHD. Pot Hole Dodger.
These are some of the pioneer girls in one of the English congregations. Cythia is in the green. Pamela next to her. Ana and then Simanga at the end. As you can tell tell they are characters. We laughed all day long. They said that this is how African women would pose for pictures... The girls also taught us about "going to gather wood". Which really means going to use the bathroom in the bush.

This is Jon and Cindi's car which they were so kind to let us use it for service. Jake is having a blast driving diesel cars. All his dream cars are here. He is trying to figure out how to bring them home.

We had a great time and Jake has three calls to return to next Monday. He had a few people that kept asking questions. One asked "where did Cain get his wife".. He asked us to come back since he had more questions. It was very fruitful and enjoyable. I did meet a cute older couple that a sister asked us to visit. They have been married 49 years and lived in this particular house since 1979. When we approached they were taking peanuts off the plant. They ended up telling us they make peanut butter. So next week we will try to get a picture of them and also purchase some peanut butter...
